Presidential Creative Initiative Program

President GarciaI am pleased to announce the first call for proposals for the Presidential Creative Initiative Program.  The program was developed to direct all Home Depot Center funds to provide support for the creative ideas that CSU Dominguez Hills’ faculty and staff propose for the advancement of our Strategic Plan Initiatives.

The faculty and staff of the CSU Dominguez Hills are the backbone of this institution.  Their hard work and commitment to success are shaping us into one of the nation’s top model urban public universities.  Regardless of department or field, the efforts of the faculty and staff help educate, inspire and prepare the future leaders of the world.  As described in the University’s strategic plan, a Culture of Achievement and Success are central to our goals, and it is the University employees who build dynamic programs and implement creative initiatives.

A committee made up of faculty, staff, students and administrators will review all submissions and present ranked proposals to the Cabinet for review and the President for final determination.  A full report of progress and completion along with an accounting of expenditures will be required.

All faculty and staff at CSU Dominguez Hills are invited to participate in the Presidential Creative Initiative Program Only those proposals that directly support the top 5 Strategic Plan initiatives for 2011-12 and include an assessment component to determine success will be considered.

  • Short-term proposals - A total of $100,000 will be distributed to fund 8-12 short-term proposals.  Funds will be distributed February 29, 2012 and must be spent by June 30, 2012. Deadline for short-term proposals is February 3, 2012
  • Long-term proposals - A total of $300,000 will be distributed to fund 2-5 long-term proposals.  Funds will be distributed in May 2012 and must be spent by June 30, 2013. Deadline for long-term proposals is March 9, 2012.
