Individual Counselingcounseling services

The Career Center offers confidential, one-on-one psychological counseling to currently enrolled students on a short-term basis. Our psychological counselors assist students who are in need of individual attention in the prevention and resolution of personal problems, and in achieving more successful personal relationships. They will also provide referrals to community resources when appropriate.

Group Counseling

Group therapy provides a safe and confidential environment for students who want to learn more about themselves and how they interact with others. It can be especially beneficial for students who feel isolated, depressed, or anxious. Small weekly counseling groups are led by therapists and offer a broad range of feedback and support from peers and professionals. A brief screening with the group leader(s) may be required before becoming a member, so please call our office for more information. See Groups offered this semester.

Medication Referral

A psychiatrist is available on Tuesday mornings to make psychiatric evaluations and to prescribe medication if appropriate. A referral from a therapist is necessary prior to making an appointment to see the psychiatrist. Generally, students who are being treated by the CSUDH psychiatrist must simultaneously be in therapy with a CSUDH psychologist.
