Alan Pattee Scholarship

 

DescriptionA waiver of fees and tuition to CSU students who are the children of deceased public law enforcement personnel or firefighters.

RequirementsMust be the child of a deceased California resident public law enforcement or fire employee killed in the line of duty. Must be enrolled as a full-time CSU student.

Ebell of Los Angeles Scholarship

 

DescriptionAwarded to students with excellent academic records, financial need and commitment to their communities.
AmountVaries, usually around $2,000
RequirementsMust be a resident of Los Angeles for one year or more. Attendance at an accredited Los Angeles County educational institution. Sophomore status or higher (undergraduates only). Minimum of 3.25 GPA. Demonstrated community commitment.
How To ApplyApplicants must submit and/or provide the following:

  • One-page autobiographical essay
  • Financial Aid profile
  • Official transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation

TELACU Scholarship

 

DescriptionRenewable and one-year scholarships awarded to first-generation college students from local communities.
Amount$1,000
RequirementsMust be a resident of East Los Angeles, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, Montebello, Monterey Park, South Gate of the City of Los Angeles. Must be a first-generation college student from a low-income family. Minimum of 2.5 GPA. Must demonstrate outstanding academic potential, community commitment and financial need.

Beverly G. Alpay Memorial Education Fund for the Visual Arts

 

DescriptionThe goal of this program is to discover and nurture artistic excellence by providing financial assistance to talented visual arts students and working professional visual artists. Recipients MUST live or attend school within 25 miles of the Palos Verdes Art Center. Awards are for traditional visual arts, not performance arts.
AmountUp to $3,000.00
RequirementsApplicants must include:
• Application form
• Brief biography
• Statement of intent
• Two letters of recommendation or published reviews
• Up to 10 digital images ( 300 dpi jpeg, at least 4 x 6 inches) of recent work
• An image list describing each piece (including title, medium, and size)
• Cohesive body of work is a definite plus
