Housing Application Checklist

Living on campus is convenient. So is the application process. To help you apply for University Housing Services, follow this simple checklist to make sure you have all your information ready. Please note: Students must apply for housing online. Paper applications will no longer be accepted.

Housing Application Checklist

STEP 1: Make Sure You're Eligible

To be eligible for University Housing, you must:

  • Be an admitted undergraduate or graduate student for the term you are applying for.
  • Have filed your Intent to Enroll form for the term for which you've been admitted. Log in to My.CSUDH.EDU and go to Application Status, Accept/Decline and then select I Accept Admission or I Decline Admission.

Current students may apply for housing, as long as they are enrolled for the upcoming term.

Married couples may apply for a one-bedroom apartment as long as one spouse is an admitted student who meets the above criteria. Each spouse must submit an online application, and rental fees are per person. Housing does not accommodate children.

STEP 2: Apply Online

Apply online and print a copy for your records. Paper applications are no longer accepted. Be sure to:

  • Apply as early as possible, since housing is limited and spots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Include your student ID in the application.
  • Apply before the priority application date. For Summer 2013, it will be April 15, 2013; for the 2013-14 Academic Year, it will be April 30, 2013.

Students who apply after the priority filing date will be considered on a space-available basis

STEP 3: Submit Your $30 Application Fee within 5 Days of Submitting Your Housing Application

To complete your housing application, you must pay your housing application fee of $30.00 online at My.CSUDH.EDU or by mailing a check or money order (payable to CSUDH Housing) to:

Your housing application fee must be paid within 5 working days in order for your application to be considered for on-campus housing. Please note: it may take up to 48 hours for this fee to appear in your My.CSUDH.EDU account.

STEP 4: Submit $300 Security Deposit

Students who apply by the priority filing date noted above will be asked to submit a security deposit to confirm their place in housing. . After you've received this notice, you may pay your deposit online at My.CSUDH.edu or by mailing a check or money order (payable to CSUDH Housing) to:

  • Please wait until University Housing contacts you before sending in the security deposit.
  • Please ensure the student's name and Student ID number is noted on the check.
  • The security deposit must be received by the deadline in order to hold your space in University Housing.
  • The security deposit deadline for Summer 2013 is April 30, 2013. The security deposit deadline for the 2013-14 Academic Year is May 17, 2013.
  • Students will be accommodated in housing, based upon the receipt of their security deposit, on a first-come, first-served basis.

STEP 5: Enroll before July 1, 2013 (or before May 1, 2013 for Summer)

All housing students must be enrolled at least half-time for the Fall 2013 term by July 1, 2013. Summer 2013 applicants but be enrolled by May 1, 2013.
