We encourage you to explore our many flexible financial aid and scholarship options designed to make your CSU Dominguez Hills education even more affordable. For Fall, you can apply for financial aid beginning on January 1, by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). File your FAFSA before March 2, for priority processing.
To reduce possible mistakes and streamline the financial aid application process, students and parents may be eligible to use the IRS Data Retrieval process. This means when you fill out your FAFSA you may be eligible to automatically transfer your federal tax information directly from the IRS into your FAFSA! To use this feature, we strongly encourage you and your parents to file your federal tax returns as early as possible before completing the FAFSA.

Once you've been admitted, you will receive your account activation information in the mail with your admissions notice. Be sure to set up your MyCSUDH online account - where you can register for classes, pay tuition, check email, schedule academic advising and much moreIt's fast, easy and convenient. Here's how you do it:
- Go to MyCSUDH
- Click on the "Activate Your Account" link
- Enter your account activation information, which will be sent to you along with your admissions notice
Need to look up your username? You can retrieve it online here. You will need your 9-digit student ID number OR your social security number in order to retrieve your username.
Need to reset your password? You can reset it online here. You will need to enter your CSUDH username. Follow the online prompts to reset your password. You will be required to enter your six-digit date of birth and the last 4 digits of your social security number. You will be able to use your new password immediately after being reset.

Why do I need to submit my intent to enroll? (Fall Only)
Indicating your Intent to Enroll is required to attend New Student Orientation, apply for Housing, receive mandatory academic advisement, and register for classes. Although the deadline for your intent to enroll is May 1, you may submit it sooner in order to take advantage of course availability and University resources. To confirm your Intent to Enroll at CSUDH, log into My.CSUDH.EDU and go to the Application Status link, click on Accept/Decline, then select I Accept Admission or I Decline Admission.
Indicating your Intent to Enroll is not required for Spring.
Yes. CSU Dominguez Hills assigns extra points for up to eight semesters of approved honors level and advanced placement courses taken in the last three years of high school:
No more than two approved honors level courses taken in the tenth grade may be given extra points. A grade of D in an honors or advanced placement course does not earn extra points.
Courses must be identified as honors level on your official high school a-g course list in order to be approved. You can find your school's course list at https://doorways.ucop.edu/list/.
You have several options to make up missing high school courses and qualify for CSU Dominguez Hills admission:
- Complete appropriate high school courses with a grade of C or better either in summer school or in adult school. Courses in this category must be those found on the a-g course lists. Some adult schools have a-g course lists.
- Complete college courses with a grade of C or better in the missing subject areas.
- Earn an acceptable score on examinations such as the SAT II, Advanced Placement examinations, or International Baccalaureate examinations.
- Earn at least 60 units from a community college or other college and transfer as an upper-division student.
Incoming Freshmen must take the English Placement Test (EPT) and/or the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) Exam as soon as possible after admission. Your scores will determine which math and English courses you should take to begin your studies at CSUDH. The EPT and the ELM are not admission tests. They will not affect your admission to CSUDH campus - they simply help determine which courses best pair up with your level of performance in math and English.
Admitted students are exempt from the EPT upon presenting proof of:
- A score of 500 or above on the critical reading section of the College Board SAT Reasoning Test.
- A score of 22 or above on the ACT English Test.
- A score of 3,4,or 5 on either the Language and Composition examination or the Composition and Literature examination of the College Board Scholastic Advanced Placement program.
- A score of 680 or above on the College Board SAT II: Writing Test taken April 1998 or later.
- Completion and transfer to CSUDH of the credits for a college course that satisfies the CSU General Education requirement in English Composition, provided such a course was completed with a grade of C or better.
- A score of "Exempt" or "Ready for college-level English courses" on the CSU Early Assessment Program (EAP) taken along with the English Language Arts California Standard Test in grade 11.
- A score of "Conditionally ready for college-level English courses" or "Conditional" on the CSU Early Assessment Program (EAP) taken on grade 11, provided successful completion of the Expository Reading and Writing Course (ERWC), AP English, IB English or an English course approved for extra honors weight on the University of California "a-g" Doorways course list.
Admitted students are exempt from the ELM upon presenting proof of:
- A score of 550 or above on the mathematics section of the College Board SAT Reasoning Test.
- A score of 550 or above on the College Board SAT Subject Test in Mathematics - Level I,IC (Calculator), II, or IIC (Calculator).
- A score of 23 or above on the ACT Mathematics Test.
- A score of 3,4,or 5 on the College Board Advanced Placement calculus examination (AB or BC) or the statistics examination.
- Completion and transfer to CSU of a college course that satisfies the requirement in Quantitative Reasoning, provided such a course was completed with a grade of C or better.
- A score of "Exempt" or "Ready for college-level Mathematics courses" on the CSU Early Assessment Program (EAP), taken in grade 11 in conjunction with the CST in Summative High School Mathematics or Algebra II.
- A score of "Conditionally ready for college-level Mathematics courses" or "Conditional" on the CSU Early Assessment Program (EAP) taken in grade 11 along with the California Standards Test in Summative High School Mathematics or Algebra II, provided successful completion of a CSU-approved 12th grade math course that require Algebra II as a prerequisite or other CSU-approved method.
Also Note: If a student scores Conditionally Exempt on the EAP Math and they are not completing a senior year math experience with a C or higher then the student will need to take the ELM.
